theIDLgroup engages in long and short-term institutional reform and change management processes which aim to re-focus policies and programmes to be pro-poor and in line with people’s priorities and needs.
Key change management services we provide include:

assessing current models of implementation for their effectiveness and relevance in the present institutional and socio-economic context

formulating recommendations on changes and action to be taken in order to accommodate relevant and appropriate aspects of recent changes and developments whilst also ensuring capability with people’s needs, demands and capabilities

providing training on organisational and institutional reform and developing a change management plan

supporting development of action plans for institutionalising programme approaches adopted by stakeholders

Examples of our change management experience include:

design of a programme to support district and national implementation of Nepal’s Agriculture Perspective Plan
Support to the development of a strategic framework for the modernisation of agriculture sector in Uganda and facilitation of the process of reform and modernisation - facilitation of a long term process of strategic planning and organisational reform for the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) taking account of wider government policy, the uncertain security situation, and implications for reform
- an in-depth study of the political economy of change in Sierra Leone
- supporting the Ghanaian Forestry Commission in a long-term process or reform, reorganisation and modernisation
