The group is committed to delivering consistently the highest
possible quality. We invest heavily in the professional and
institutional tools for reaching that overarching goal. Our
culture is value-based, where we depend less on rules and manuals
and more on individuals’ awareness of issues and options,
and their own sense of a responsibility to deliver.
In
September 2001, we were assessed and approved against the BS
EN ISO 9001: 2000 standard. Our approved quality management
systems apply to "The Provision of World-class Consultancy
and Research Services Championing the Advancement of Policy,
Organisations and Personnel in the Fields of Governance, Social
Development and Sustainable Livelihoods".
To
maintain recognition against this standard we conduct a minimum
of two internal audits per year, and receive one external audit
by an independent assessor. These audits ensure that our systems
are appropriate and able to provide effective support to our
technical staff. One of the most valuable ways of evaluating
the quality of our work is to listen to the comments made by
our clients. Many of these come voluntarily, although we are
also proactive in carrying out appraisals of our ‘product’,
the results of which are fed into our overall evaluation and
form some of our targets for the coming year.
In 2002 theIDLgroup was also recognised as meeting the national standard for effective "Investor in People". In 2007 we are delighted to say that the standard has been renewed following a positive review of our systems
