Sebastian Taylor Senior Consultant |
Sebastian Taylor is a senior staff consultant in our Fragile and Post Conflict States Portfolio. During his career he has been the Director of International Rescue Committee (IRC) UK and Senior Research Fellow for the World Health Organisation (WHO) Commission on Social Determinants of Health. He joins us from Action on Armed Violence, where he was Executive Director.
Sebastian has a proven track record in delivering research, policy analysis, programme design and support in conflict recovery and peace building. He has an in-depth understanding of issues around violence reduction, governance and public health. He has substantial knowledge – practical and conceptual – of key sub-sectors in the field of state fragility and conflict, including conflict resolution; and peace building and stabilisation, including DDRR, humanitarian mine action, security sector functions and urban stabilisation in post-conflict settings.
His international experience as an adviser and programme director spans Africa, and South and East Asia, including Liberia, Nigeria, Egypt, Somalia, India, Pakistan and Lao P.D.R., as well as Sierra Leone, Burundi, Uganda, DR Congo, Rwanda, Sudan, Thailand, and the Philippines. Seb has worked with and for a diverse range of public, private sector and Non-Governmental Organisations including WHO, IRC, UNICEF, CARE International, UNDP and Mines Advisory Group.
