Sarah Bayne

Consultant

Sarah Bayne is a staff consultant in our Fragile and Post Conflict States Portfolio. For the past eight years she has worked as an independent consultant, providing services to a variety of governmental, multilateral and non-governmental organisations. She was previously employed in a governance advisory role by DFID and as an EU and peacebuilding specialist by the NGO Saferworld.

Sarah has a proven track record in delivering applied policy/programme research, strategic and programme reviews, and conflict assessments. She has expertise in peacebuilding, responses to fragile states, conflict-sensitive approaches to development and capacity building.   Sarah demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of EU external policies, institutional structures and processes with specific expertise in EU-Africa relations.

Sarah has worked extensively in Africa with significant experience in Uganda, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia. She has worked for a variety of clients such as DFID, FCO, European Commission, Sida, OECD DAC, UNDP, International Alert Saferworld, Centre for International Co-operation and Security (CICS) – University of Bradford Department of Peace Studies, UNIDIR, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Finland,  European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM) and the Centre for Conflict Resolution Uganda (CECORE).
