Rose Hogan is a development professional with substantial field experience in natural resources management for poverty reduction. She works to support nations to adopt environmental investment through their national policies, strategies, plans and budgets as a means to improve the quality of lives and sustainably exploit nature for economic benefit. Her recent focus is the adoption of measures to protect natural resource-based economies from the impacts of climate change. The poorest people gain their livelihoods through expanding agricultural activities which pressure the margins of remaining biodiverse forests and wetlands while wise agriculture represents the greatest hope for returns on investment in better ecosystem stewardship.
Rose is also an environmental education and participatory skills specialist who designs and facilitates the implementation of information, education, communication, and awareness strategies for programmes and projects on climate change, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem management, natural resource governance and mainstreaming poverty-environment issues.
