theIDLgroup is committed to delivering outputs and professional services which are of the highest possible quality. We have conceptualised our interpretation of ‘quality’ as being for the purposes of achieving a single objective – “Maximising the impact and effectiveness of our clients’ engagement with development policies and processes” – supported through deliverable and measurable quality indicators of Performance, Innovation, Learning, Recruitment and Reputation.

We are committed to providing quality services to our clients.  We invest in our staff and operating systems to ensure we succeed. This investment has been recognised with both Investors in People (IiP) certification and ISO: 9001 accreditation which we have held since 2001, and we continue to be audited annually by external evaluators to ensure we remain ahead of the quality agenda.

                               

These certifications recognise our commitment to providing quality services to our clients, through continual investment in our staff and in our operating systems. We know that our people are our biggest asset, and invest in training, professional development and peer review. We also hold regular internal retreats and in-days where our staff and our associate consultants have the opportunity to come together, share lessons from their work and learn from each another.

Our culture is value-based. We depend less on rules and manuals and more on our staff's awareness of issues and options, and their own sense of a responsibility to deliver; however we do use the guidance of ISO: 9001 to develop and implement quality administration systems, standards and guidelines, to support our daily work and the delivery of our end product.

To help us achieve our quality objectives we have individuals across the firm tasked with implementing our Quality agenda, which includes:

  • continuously reviewing the quality of all company-wide systems and processes
  • promoting knowledge management across the group as a whole
  • monitoring the Continuing Professional Development of all our staff
  • supporting the company to uphold standards of professional practice.
