About theIDLgroup ltd
theIDLgroup is a dynamic, quality focussed consulting firm that delivers tailored international development consultancy services. Based in the UK, with representative offices in South East Asia and West Africa, we support our clients to conceptualise, design and deliver pro-poor development.
On 1st November theIDLgroup joined GRM International, Futures Group and Effective Development Group as part of the GRM Futures Group of international development companies. As part of this group, we will continue to offer our clients the same high quality and tailored international development consultancy and advice – this is the core of what we do and will remain so.
Established in 1993, theIDLgroup provides advisory, analytical and process support services to governments, non-government agencies, policy think-tanks and research groups. We provide consultancy services in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Americas and the Pacific.
Our work for international development agencies is highly regarded. We have a proven track record of developing effective and workable solutions to complex problems and translating theory into policy and strategy. The work we do is often short-term and strategic in nature, supporting clients and agencies to develop innovative programmes and instruments.
In April 2007, theIDLgroup integrated with FRR Ltd, a consultancy company which specialises in natural resource management, forestry, biodiversity conservation and protected area management. Both firms are highly regarded in their specialist fields. Our reputations are built upon innovation, excellent customer service and consistent high quality work, all of which lie at the heart of what we do.
Together, theIDLgroup and FRR provide advisory services in five integrated portfolio areas:
governance, institutional reform and political economy
social development and civil society strengthening
environment and natural resource management
rural growth and livelihoods security
strategies for fragile and conflict affected states.
As part of our broader commitment to quality, theIDLgroup has developed some specific guidance – “theIDLgroup’s approach to evaluations” – on the ethics and responsibilities of evaluation assignments. This document aims to assist both our clients and consultants when commissioning or conducting evaluations, and is available for download from our publications page.
We pride ourselves on a distinctive culture where depth of technical knowledge is complemented by advanced process and facilitation skills. We are based in Bristol, England and have representativel offices in West Africa and East Asia.
