FRR Ltd: FRR Ltd was established in 1987, and has over 20 years experience of providing consulting services that help to develop and implement policies to tackle poverty, governance and growth agendas. Their areas of competence include natural resources management and conservation, forest sector reform and institutional development, private sector development, and empowerment of civil society. Their clients are governments, the private sector, international development partners and NGOs. The people they work with are policy makers and implementers who want to change the rules of the game in order to achieve better livelihoods and environments, more opportunity and higher quality of life.
As well as their Bristol-based headquarters (in the same offices as theIDLgroup), they have established offices in Vietnam and Ghana, and are looking to build on FRR's global reputation for world class consulting in policy development and implementation, institutional reform, and natural resource management and conservation. FRR's East Asia office in Hanoi has focused predominantly on biodiversity conservation, protected area and buffer zone management, including forestry and tourism development. In FRR's Accra office the team is building upon FRR’s successful track record in the Ghanaian forest sector and is currently working on reform of the land sector, on wildlife and mining issues, and with parliamentarians and civil society.
The FRR team offers a flexible, authoritative and interdisciplinary learning approach, oriented towards results and objectives but maintaining the required flexibility to meet the individual needs of each client. They tackle the organisational aspects of reform and the need for fundamental change, within a governance, institutional and political context. FRR’s proven track record is to work with clients to conceive and execute policy changes that work for them. This means not just short term fixes; but sustainable changes that bring fundamental, positive shifts in people’s living standards and quality of life. Their global reputation in sector reform programmes demonstrates our proven ability to analyse, design and support the political, economic and social reform processes that lead to genuinely pro-poor change.
From April 2007, FRR business will be undertaken as a trading division of theIDLgroup. .
